A brand-new type of conference on EMC and other compliance issues, will be held in the UK: May 20-21, 2020
The EMC-UK conferences were very successful for many years, and this year we are bringing a new version back home to an updated Newbury Racecourse.
This is an independent conference, called EMC & Compliance International because its scope includes all compliance activities (Safety, Radio Equipment, EMC, etc., and specification, design, testing, documentation, etc.) worldwide.
As well as the Exhibition, there will be Training Workshops, Technical Workshops, and the completely new TWEX – Ten minutes With an EXpert. A Distinguished Lecturer provided by the IEEE EMC Society will also give a free presentation on the red-hot topic: EMC for Wireless Power Transfer (WPT).
The six Training Workshops will all be given by Keith Armstrong of Cherry Clough Consultants Ltd, who in 2018 was the first person to receive the IEEE EMC Society’s new award on “Excellence in Continuing EMC Education”.
Details of these very practical training workshops are given here.
The six Technical Workshops are not run by academics, so won’t include any students stammering through highly mathematical papers whilst looking like rabbits caught in the headlights!
Instead, you’ll get senior experts discussing interesting practical issues in their fields.
Details of the technical workshops are given here (scroll down the page).
TWEX is a totally new type of exhibition activity, and we think you will love it!
A variety of experts will sit at individual tables and spend up to ten minutes (no more!) talking with anyone, for free.
We currently have eight “TWEXperts” signed-up, covering EMC and Radio Equipment Directive (RED) compliance; Functional Safety risks caused by EMI; pre-compliance EMC testing; highly-accelerated lifecycle testing (‘HALT’); how to make a difference with BSI Standards; electromagnetic hazards to aircraft, and much much more.
The EMC for Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) talk also covers EMF (hazards of EM fields to human health) and will be given by Prof Seungyoung Ahn of the Cho Chun Shik Graduate School of Green Transportation, KAIST, Korea.
It has been organised by Paul Duxbury of the IEEE EMC Society’s UKRI Chapter. Please let Paul know if you plan to attend (firstname.lastname@example.org) to help plan the catering. This event, with its snacks and drinks, is totally free to absolutely everyone, and details are available here.
Tickets to the EMC & Compliance two-day exhibition and TWEX are free, and registration for these – and/or the (paid for) Workshops - are available on-line here.
